INFOhio Spence White Service Award, 2010
Library Support Team, LNOCA.
Lori Slingerland, Greg Perciak, Noreen Lehmann and Curt Vigg, the Lakeshore Northeast Ohio Computer Association (LNOCA) Library Systems Support Team, have been selected as the 2010 recipients of the INFOhio Spence White Service Award.
The LNOCA team was nominated by INFOhio Users Council representatives Betsey Lee, Library Media Specialist at Brady Middle School in Orange City School District, and Kathy Lawrence, Library Media Specialist at Cleveland Heights High School. Both praise the team members as "innovative thinkers and problem solvers who hear the needs of school librarians and work to make school libraries more effective and efficient; these professionals go above and beyond the basics."
In her letter of support for the nomination, Kathy Frederick, Directory of Library & Technology Services for the Shaker Heights City Schools, affirmed the LNOCA team's "expertise, dedication and professionalism" as "exemplary. There actions speak for their commitment to the goals of INFOhio and for their service to area schools," Frederick wrote.
Cherie Pandora, retired Rocky River High School library media specialist and long-time member of the LLIS group (Liaisons to LNOCA for INFOhio Services), adds her accolades for the LNOCA Support Team. They "have made the lives of librarians in Northeast Ohio much easier ─ they provide top-notch instruction, online and phone support and are more than willing to come out to the districts to provide hands-on support and group workshops."
The LNOCA Support Team has had a larger significance, explains Joanna McNally, Charles F. Brush High School Librarian (South Euclid-Lyndhurst City Schools). "Many of the services [the team] provides are not only available to LNOCA's customer base, but they are available statewide. Ohio is fortunate to have such a dynamic ITC that shares their expertise and enthusiasm to benefit INFOhio as a whole," McNally stated in letter of recommendation.
INFOhio is proud to have this team of dedicated professionals provide such outstanding library support.
