Reflecting on Your Learning
Now that you have learned more about ISearch and how to use it as your library catalog, look for the Reflecting on ISearch Learning discussion in the ISearch Users Open Space group to answer the following:
- What part of this class and the activities was most helpful in your understanding of the topic? Why?
- What part of this class, the activities, or the materials could be better? What would you do to improve it? Why?
- What was the most important thing you learned from this class? What makes it important to you?
Extend the Learning
Now that you have completed the training, make sure the learning doesn't stop. Once you have used ISearch to build and supplement your curriculum and taught your students and teachers how to use ISearch as your online catalog and for research, evaluate those experiences. Consider these questions:
- What worked/didn't work? How will you replicate the success or correct the problem the next time you use ISearch?
- Which information or materials you learned about in the training will you use the most?
- What did you discover about your teaching style from teaching students and teachers how to use ISearch as the library catalog and for research?
- What are two pieces of advice you would give to a fellow library staff person who wants to help students, their parents, and her colleagues make the most of ISearch?
