Navigating the Landing Page
CultureGrams: Kids and World editions include a collection of more than 185 country reports. Each report provides engaging, up-to-date cultural information. CultureGrams: Kids Edition is designed for upper elementary students. CultureGrams: World Edition is designed for middle and high school students. Educators and students can easily flip back and forth between versions by using the drop-down icon in the right corner, as illustrated below.
Browse Using the Top Menu
Use the categories pictured in the top menu below to locate information and help students look deeper into the world's cultures.
- Photos: Explore the world through hundreds of pictures gathered from around the world.
- Slideshows: Find slideshows of different pictures from specific countries.
- Video: Select a country to view videos of its culture.
- Interviews: See interview questions and answers to help students learn about different lives of people.
- Famous People: Search famous people and their biographies.
- Recipes: Browse a collection of recipes native to that country.
- Flags: Click to find a specific flag to enlarge or print.
- Graphs and Tables: Visit the Build-Your-Own section to create comparison tables and graphs.
Locate Country Reports
Start exploring by selecting a region or country from the drop-down menu in the left corner. Or click on one of the seven continents on the map, as shown below.
Once you choose a continent, pictured in the graphic below, select a country from the alphabetical drop-down list directly above the Explore heading. Or click a country name on the map to see details about its culture.
Country Layout and Sidebar
Country Report Layout
Every country page contains information to support K-12 assignments about that country. The country page includes data and cultural facts such as history, population, education, holidays, visiting, and social gestures. Find main facts about a country in the Did You Know? section, located in the center of the page pictured below.
The country page also offers these helpful features:
- Flag: Learn about the country's flag, or print to PDF.
- Listen: Click play to hear the countries name or anthem.
- Map: Find a detailed or blank outlined map here.
- Infographic: Read about characteristics of an average person.
- Quick Facts: Find facts about this country such as the capital, population, area, and currency.
- Citation: This will generate an APA 7 or MLA citation for students.
Country Report Sidebars
The sidebars on the left of the page provide more information about a country's culture. Use the information in the sidebars to support country research projects.
CultureGrams: Kids and World editions each include different sidebars as detailed in the charts below.
